06Why Serenified exists
Born from lived experience, not a textbook.
Serenified was not built in a boardroom. I spent four years quietly fighting depression before I finally asked for help, and that decision changed the direction of my life. What struck me afterwards was not how hard therapy was. It was how long I waited, and how normal that waiting felt to everyone around me.
Nobody in my life had ever said the words out loud. There was no moment where someone sat me down and told me this was a thing people got help for. So I did what most people here do. I assumed it would pass, then assumed I was weak for it not passing, and lost years to that assumption.
In Pakistan, that is the default rather than the exception. Not because help does not exist, but because nobody around us ever made asking for it feel like a reasonable thing to do. We are taught to push through, to keep it in the family, to be grateful it is not worse.
Serenified exists to make that first step smaller. Our licensed psychologists work with people navigating anxiety, depression and burnout, and with couples and families trying to communicate better. Alongside them, our career counselling and educational consultancy team works with students and parents caught in academic pressure, and with anyone who does not know what direction their life is supposed to take next.
The consultancy side came later, and it came from watching the same thing happen repeatedly. Students being routed toward whichever country would take them, the field quietly becoming an afterthought. If we are going to help someone leave, it should be toward something, not just away from something.
You do not need a crisis to justify booking. Whatever brought you here, you will be met without judgment.
